Kodak DC290 Problems and ? on Trade Up
I have a Kodak DC 290 dc and was wondering if anyone else is having this
problem. The exposure control for this camera has gone bad. It will on the first few shots or more, will over expose. The picture is all white except for a few highlights that are barely visible. The flash will not work in conditions that used to fire it. Sometimes if I power off remove batteries and flash card and then reinsert them and power up I will get maybe one firing ....maybe 3 or 4...when I start shooting. Sometimes if I am in display mode on LCD and aim the camera towards a bright source such as the sky(not into the sun) it will catch itself and expose correctly for a few shots after that. I was also wondering if the trade up program is still in effect. Thanks, Dan |

Greetings Dan,
Sorry to hear about your trouble. Sounds as though you need some help with repair. The camera can still be serviced if you like. If not, it does qualify for the tradein program. Actually, the program has been setup as an alternative to having a product repaired or if you simply decided to upgrade from a previous model. This program allows you to trade your current camera in for one of the cameras or bundles listed below. All camera models and bundles available in the Trade-in Program are refurbished class B cameras. The cameras are fully tested and warranted for 1 year from purchase. The refurbished models being shipped are full retail pack-out class B's, included with manuals, cables, and software. If you have any further questions please contact us at 1-800-235-6325 and ask for help, or just let me know and I will follow through for you. Although the DC290 was the best model we offered in its time, there are a great many new features in our cameras that are significant improvments. Although not on the list of options, I would look at the newest DX7590 if you need a camera that has the most and advanced features.
