Pentax 645 (non AF) with 120 mm Macro and Ringflash?
Hi,
I would like to ask you guys out there if one of you is working with a ring flash on the non-AF Pentax 645 with the 120mm macro lens - does anything exist which works? Looking at the information, the Pentax ringflashes seem to work only with the 75mm lens on the Pentax 645 - so one would need to either use the macro rings or the bellows, but how about the 120mm macro?? Any ideas? Thanks - George |

Any ideas? Thanks - George I'm interested in this myself but I have the AF version. After investing an awful lot of money in digital I'm now convinced to keep shooting my landscapes on film using my 645N. I need to add a 120 macro and a 300 tele to complete my kit. I was so close to selling it recently, even listed it in an auction and now I'm so pleased it never reached the reserve. alan |

I own the Sunpak DX12R and I am not too happy with it. I feel the flash is
not strong enough. It has a guide number of 40. I have used it on my Pentax 645N with the Sunpak PT2D module and using Kodak ektacrome 100 film setting my 120mm lens at 1:1 macro and shooting at f16 to get good depth of field I find that the film came back 1/2 to 1 full stop under exposed. I would recommend trying it before dropping almost $300.00 on this setup. Let me know it any of this helps I am going to test it some more but I think I will go back to a dedicated flash held off camera. I have the Pentax AF500FTZ flash (guide number 160) that I use off camera with a dedicated TTL cord and get good results.
