zone VI meters
Oops - spoke too soon. Forgot to check stock availability. Calumet say
they are unavailable at main warehouse. So, sounds like they're selling off existing stock. Too bad. Probably a lot of them out there though. "Alecj" wrote in message .. . "But I think we agree on everything: Zone System sticker can be bought separately, Zove VI Studios sticker can not." In the interests of accuracy, may I suggest this alternative: The Zone VI sticker with various zones printed on it can be bought separately. The "Modified by Zone VI Studios" sticker cannot - it only comes with a meter." The reason is the older zone stickers ALSO had "Zone VI Studios" on them [Calumet has since dropped that]. But, just when you think you've got it tied down, Richard Ritter comes through and says he's seen some modified Pentax digital meters WITHOUT the "Modified by ..." sticker. He didn't say how he thinks they originated. I had heard Pentax had discontinued the meter, and that Calumet had also. However, I just checked the Calumet site and they're still listed there - for $580. The zone stickers for them are there too - $3. "Severi Salminen" wrote in message ... BEllis60 wrote: I said: There were two stickers that Zone VI Studios used. One is the zone system sticker. This was the sticker Tim was talking about . Severi S said : No he was not, please re-read. I did re-read. I don't know what messages you're reading but what I saw was the following statment from Tim: Yes, I actually twisted my brains myself when trying to set you straight But I think we agree on everything: Zone System sticker can be bought separately, Zove VI Studios sticker can not. David asked some other identification than the Zone VI Studios sticker and Tim answered by referring incorrectly to the Zone System sticker. So the original question is still unanswered Severi S. |

Calumet has decided to discontinue a lot of darkroom and analog equipment in their retail stores, but they still sell it on the internet from their warehouse. So that by itself does not mean that the product is no longer available. |

You didn't read closely. I said the WAREHOUSE doesn't have it. B&H no
longer shows it either. That isn't a good sign. "Mark A" wrote in message ... "Alecj" wrote in message .. . Oops - spoke too soon. Forgot to check stock availability. As far as changing ASA for a modified meter, take nothing for granted. Test for ASA and development time yourself, so that you know what they are for your meter, camera, developer, film, AND paper and paper developer. Two simple tests and you'll have it forever. Or at least until you change materials or want to try something new. Bruce Barlow www.finefocusworkshops.com |

zone VI meters
The only way to really tell if a meter is modified
is to open the meters up. I have worked on meters that other people have opened up and lost or broken the filters that were part if the modification. Stickers they do come off. Calumet put the stickers were you grab the meter a placement that see a lot of handling. I have seem meters with out the stickers. When I modified the meters for Zone Vi there was a mark put in the meter. I have seem these and Calumets with out stickers. Best thing to do is keep the paper work that said the meter was modified or have it checked by someone who knows what they are doing. As to telling sometimes you can see a magenta spot in the center of the lens. This is from one of the filters. Its very hard to see. The only thing I do is repair the meters and calibrate them. One other thing people get wrong about this meter. Allot of people say this meter is only for black and white film. Wrong. It has a color correction filter in it to help it see color better and more correctly. There are are allot of photographers that use this meter mainly for color. Fred was not aware that when the meter was being developed that it was also being tested with color film.
