(SI) Defending my "Erotica" shot
I appreciated all of the critiques of my shot. All of them were
pretty much on target. I didn't take offense to the critque that it looked like a Sears catalogue shot because that was pretty much what I shot it for. The image is taken from a model's portfolio that she was going to use to try and get that kind of work. She also got black and white headshots, bikini shots, and full length studio shots. About the hips...I used a normal lens at a normal height. The hips belong to her. The light coming in the window was a little too contrasty and she was disappearing into the background so a silver 42" reflector was used as fill, resulting in the shadow on the wall by her thigh. As for the yellow tack it goes to show the value of other people looking at your work because I have looked at the images several times since the shoot in September and never noticed it. Thanks for the critiques. |
