Dang, those close up (8x10) portraits are out of
focus! My full length are very good!!

My usual cause is I didn't tighten down the standard(s)
and something moved while I inserted the film holder or
fiddled with the lens.

I also have had problems when the film holder wasn't all
the way into the camera.

What's the obvious?

Focus on the eyes not on the tip of the nose when at full aperture.

Try to stop down to at least f/16-22

Use enough candle power to use a faster shutter speed,
use 400 ASA film if indoors.

Tell the model to hold very still.

Practice using B&W before using C41.

Get an 8x10 Polaroid holder and processor? :-)
