Dang, those close up (8x10) portraits are out of focus! My full length are very good!! My usual cause is I didn't tighten down the standard(s) and something moved while I inserted the film holder or fiddled with the lens. I also have had problems when the film holder wasn't all the way into the camera. -- Nicholas O. Lindan, Cleveland, Ohio Consulting Engineer: Electronics; Informatics; Photonics. What's the obvious?
Focus on the eyes not on the tip of the nose when at full aperture. Try to stop down to at least f/16-22 Use enough candle power to use a faster shutter speed, use 400 ASA film if indoors. Tell the model to hold very still. Practice using B&W before using C41. Get an 8x10 Polaroid holder and processor? :-) In article , "Jos. Burke" wrote: Any tips on close portraiture and 8x10!!
