The interesting thing is that pixel size is approaching
m4/3 levels, yet Sony declare 15 stops of dynamic range
with this new sensor.

Alfred-

That is a rather extensive article. I may have missed it, but I
couldn't find whether the new body is compatible with my old
Sony/Minolta lenses.

do not believe anything kenny says. his site is a work of fiction, by
his own admission.

that link in particular is overflowing with bull****, so much so that
it that it can *only* be considered satire.

Why screw around with 61MP when 102MP is available?

Are you helping the poor, struggling Rockwell family?

It seems that his satire web site is all that keeps him, and his kids from a
life on the streets with all his belongings in a shopping cart?

When I see those pixel counts I am reminded of Michael Palin's line in
the film Fierce Creatures: "How much more does he need?"

Yes I can see that it matters to a few applications, I still think that
most people would benefit from fewer pixels, and less noise, than they
have now even on APS-C.

Years ago I bought a G10 (for a wedding, to give me a hot shoe), it was
interesting to see that Canon dropped the pixel count for the G12.

According to that "satirical website", even 102Mp isn't as good as 35mm!

Maybe if it could mount my Canon FL-mount 1200mm lens...

Yup! That is why I have stuck with APS-C with my X-E3 & X-T3. All more than
enough for me. I just do not have the need for FF, or MF and a silly chase
after pixel count. If I were a pro with specific needs in a studio, or for
high end landscape photography, and a budget which could justify the cost,
then I would be looking at the GFX100.

I still have the G11 I bought some years ago. A great compact camera I would
not hesitate to recommend. However, I have not used it much lately since my
X-E2 & X-E3 have pretty much replaced it for my smaller camera needs. Now I
am thinking of having it converted for dedicated IR use.
