Does anyone use lens hoods with digital cameras?

It made for better pictures in situations with strong light and reflections by reducing flare from the sides. I also thought it helped protect the lens. I now have a digital (Minolta s414), and I'm puzzled that there is no lens hood offered by Konica nor aftermarket. Is it out of fashion, too hard to size right with a zoom or unnecessary? A couple of the lenses I use with my 10D have built-in lens hoods. |
