Lici has a long history of making analyzers, as well as printing stations etc. Jobo just rebranded the item like the 3000. Are you sure? There are plenty of claims the other way in the google archives. Some from Jobo USA. I thought that was how Omega got the Colorstar line. Jobo came out with the Colorline [5000,5100 and 7000] leaving the Colorstars without US distribution. Here is the Jobo webpage on the differences between the 3000 and the 5000. http://www.jobo-usa.com/faq/cl5k_vs_cs3000.htm Nick |

That got damaged by a water leak, cause by the painter/decoraters clogging up a drainpipe just outside my darkroom. So I was able to buy a Lici Colorstar 5000 to replace it, but Which model? The 3000? 6000? Or do you mean the Jobo Colorline? Nick The Jobo model was also made by Lici, as I understand it. The model is 5000, as I stated above. My regards, F.C. Trevor Gale |

Actually the descrepancy may be a result of: Jobo coming out with a Colorline 5000 versus the Colorstar 3000 the Colorline is a direct ripoff of the Colorstar 3000. Colorstar then came out with a much more advanced 6000 model enabling two simultanously probes of differing types. The Colorline analyzers, had at the time I worked for Omega a much less color sensitive probe (According to Lici) so the newer 3000 & 6000 models were far better than the Jobo Colorline which was a direct rip off of the older spot probes. But I seem to recall Lici having a model 5000 which predated its 6000 model, of course that portion could be my error. BTW have you used your 3000 as a densitometer? It works pretty cool that way. -- LF Website @ http://members.verizon.net/~gregoryblank "To announce that there must be no criticism of the President, or that we are to stand by the President, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public."--Theodore Roosevelt, May 7, 1918 |

Greetings;
It is *definitely not* the Jobo colorLINE 5000, it is a colorSTAR 5000 with the Lici three-color star-form display, similar to but much more comprehensive than the Colorstar 3000 - it has some 16 buttons and separate LED displays for yellow, magenta, density and time. It is twice the width of the 3000. It has connections for both a spot and integration sensors, although the spot sensor can be used in integrate mode by using its slot-in diffuser cover.
