SilverFast and Epson V700
I bought an Epson V700 Photo flatbed scanner, and with it came a
SilverFast SE disk. How does this compare with other photo editing software? I mostly use Nikon CaptureNX2 and sometimes PhotoShop CS3. Should I bother to install SilverSharp SE? Thanks for your advice. Mike. |

Getting the full potential from one scanner programme should suffice and far exceed your requirements. Silver Fast SE is the lite edition. I do have a copy of the full programme and tried that but went back to the Epson one. |

Slide film? black&white film? Printed photos? (this was something we forgot to ask you in your initial question) N.F. The main use will be for old prints, of which my wife has a large number. I will also be happy to not have to go out to get copies for routine household business. Mike. |

It's not editing software, it's scanning software; hence it needs to be compared to Epson Scan, Nikon Scan, and Vue-Scan, not Photoshop and Nikon NX2. -- Googleproofaddress(account:dd-b provider:dd-b domain:net) Snapshots: http://dd-b.net/dd-b/SnapshotAlbum/data/ Photos: http://dd-b.net/photography/gallery/ Dragaera: http://dragaera.info |

If you are like me you will install it, try it and then use something else. -- Regards, Eric Stevens |
