high-speed Casio -- why ??

Casio announced a 6MP CMOS consumer camera which has a burst rate of
60 fps, and a VGA movie rate of 300 fps,

The question is: who needs this fast consumer camera ? For a consumer,
it is too fast anyeay, and for a professional, it is either too slow
or the sensor is too small (or both).

Your creative ability isn't just limited it is nonexistent.

Please give away or sell any cameras you might have. Nobody would ever want to
see anything that you ever do with them. You are not only wasting your time but
the time of everyone that you might inflict with your photography.

30 years ago everyone was asking those that wanted a computer the exact same
question. Why would you want one of those silly computer things.

Note that you didn't post an actual name or model number for this
camera. It's just a prototype at best, and is only meant to
generate "buzz" for Casio, and show that they may be trying to break
out of their low position in the camera world's pecking order. It's
similar to how Detroit would showcase their auto prototypes that
would either never make it to the marketplace, or do so in much
reduced or adulterated form, all the while getting the public's
notice and (supposedly) making their other, mundane products more
appealing. But don't think that the public wouldn't find a 60fps
burst rate appealing. Consider the amount of time between shots in
current camera burst rates. That's an awfully long time for sports
and other 'action' type shots, and makes it very likely that you'd
miss the shot you were hoping for. If your camera could take a fast
burst of 10 shots in less than 1/5th second, the odds that you'd
capture some of these fleeting moments would go up substantially.
BTW, don't pay much attention to the newsgroup's resident sock
puppet troll. Passing Through ... is a near
perfect name, since like most of the sock puppets, it's here today
and is likely to be gone tomorrow, replaced with a new nym designed
to protect its cowardly puppet master from being filtered.

which might help boost sales of their consumer devices? And if it's
