What is the best vehicle? Ferrari Mercedes Kenworth Yamaha Hobie-Cat Leer Boeing Answer: Depends on what you need to do with it. most of these cameras seem to have about the same features butI was wondering which ones have the best test scores for taking quality pics? |

You say "pics." What kind? What is important to you? Action/motion shooting? Wildlife? Portraits? B&W? Sports? Close-up/macro? Low-light? Long-exposure/night photography? All-weather? Under water? Size considerations? External flash capable/not? Manual focus/auto-only? Manual exposure/auto/both? Battery life? Zoom range? Telephoto? How much will you enlarge prints? The answers to these questions will determine the best camera for YOU. |

I was thinking more along the lines: Aliasing Artifacts Blooming Dynamic Range Jaggies Moiré Noise Reduction Absolute and Extinct LPH Resolutions Sharpening Barrel Distortion Chromatic Aberrations Image Stabilization Lens quality Pincushion Distortion Vignetting etc. |

So you don't want to take pictures... ....Just have clean images of...well...SOMETHING. OK. Here's a site that covers all of these details with samples, tests, and numbers: www.dpreview.com See "review" section, and look up the cameras you're interested in. |

s.com: What is the best Canon cameras? models: s40 s45 s50 s60 a75 a80 g2 g3 g5 thank you Umm, the G3 would be my pick. Unless you need a smaller camera or cheaper. G3 - Better lens than the S series or A series cameras, more zoom than the G2, less noise than the G5. However the G5 and G2 are still good cameras. The A80 is good for the price and also has a swivel screen, but the lens at max zoom has a small aperture. The A80 also has no hotshoe, so the built in flash is all you can use. (G Series have a hotshoe) Go to www.dpreview.com and read the review on the G3, look at the sample images, if the quality doesn’t look good enough to you then feel free to check other cameras. -- Mark Heyes (New Zealand) See my pics at http://homepages.ihug.co.nz/~markh/ "There are 10 types of people, those that understand binary and those that don't" |
