: Was shooting in a bird sanctuary and used a 500mm lens, 1.4x converter and a crop camera for reach. Looks like pros do use them. It was also interesting seeing a TV commercial for Really Right Stuff! : : http://totallyoutdoorsimaging.com/tv-series/ Apparently quite a few pros have bought the Canon 7D Mark II. Some consider it the best wildlife camera currently in production. Bob |

Apparently quite a few pros have bought the Canon 7D Mark II. Some consider it the best wildlife camera currently in production. I don't see why anyone should be surprised to see a pro using *any* camera. I've seen professionally published photos from "name-brand" photographers made with iPhones, iPads (best portable camera viewfinder ever!), point-and-shoot, crop sensor, you-name-it. Whatever is handy and can grab the shot. -- I agree with almost everything that you have said and almost everything that you will say in your entire life. usenet *at* davidillig dawt cawm |

While I don't have a ton of stuff to compare it against, I can confirm it does quite well. The low light did pretty good on a leopard two nights ago (flat shade, post sunset) and some pretty sharp white rhino in clutter this morning. Full analysis & pixel peep pending a real display, etc. -hh |
