Default Using Lee hood with modified Cokin "P" series filter holder

Hi,

I am currently doing 35mm, but plan to get a Kiev sometime in the next
year or so, and want to buy a filter system for use on both cameras
now.

Although the Cokin "P" series is supposed to accommodate the 82mm
filter size, a number of people have reported a vignetting problem
with a 45mm lens (82mm filter size) with the Pentax 6x7 and Mamiya. A
sugested solution is to modify the filter holder so that it takes only
one filter and file it down. While I don't have a problem with this (I
don't envision using multiple filters), what does concern me is one
particular post that mentioned problems with attaching a lens hood to
the filter holder after it's been modified. If I do get the Cokin
system, I would probably get the Lee bellows style hood that's
designed to work with it. So my question is: will I be able to use the
Lee hood with a hacked-up Cokin "P" series holder?

Thanks

From the sounds of it your only worry is the 45mm. Instead of hacking the
hood to fit the 45mm why not just get a shade for the 45mm?

Both the 45mm and the 150mm use the same 82mm filters. With a step up
ring they'll work fine on most of the other lenses. I forget which lens
needs the 86mm filter. New 82mm filters aren't cheap but depending on which
ones you need it's not too hard to find good used ones.
