which will give you the EXIF info. I believe all the Sports mode does is
choose the fastest shutter and then increases the sharpness and
saturation which seemed fine with me for photographing birds. I was
still able to up the ISO and select the focus area with this
vari-program.

Thank you for this, you have inadvertently helped me with something that
has been bugging me for a few weeks now..

All of my pictures have been coming out with a faded appearance. like
they had a kind of grey/brown wash over them.

I took some pictures of a couple of sparrows and they took a lot of work
to get them looking anything like yours in terms of saturation etc.. And
even then they weren't good..

Anyway I downloaded your full image and opened it in paintshop pro.
Guess what, it looked every bit as washed out as my own pictures. It
turned out I had some half-baked colour profile loaded. Switched back
to sRGB and every thing is back to normal..

So, you have my gratitude and best wishes with your D80 !

I think a Spider2 lurks not far down the road.
