Quick question
Hi I have never posted here before.
THinking of buying a Canon EOS 400d with sandisk card. Just wanted to know, with 30Mb pics in raw mode, after I have taken the picture, what sort of delay is there while it writes to the card? Many thanks. |

The delay is negligible (a couple of seconds at most) but you can still shoot while the card is being written to. |

Quick question
What on earth is the advantage of having a 30mb file...or 8mbs for that
matter....what will it be used for and what is the gain? JB wrote in message ups.com... Hi I have never posted here before. THinking of buying a Canon EOS 400d with sandisk card. At first glance it would seem that the raw file should be 30MB, after all there are 10 MP and three colors per pixel. But in the raw data there are only a total of 10 MP with 5MP of green 2.5 MP of red and 2.5 MP of blue. Add to this that there is some losses compression and the raw file will normally be a bit under 10 MP. The delay is pretty small, under normal shooting you will not fill up the buffer and so never notice the time it takes to write to the card. Scott |
