Olympus Camedia/ Flash Path vs XD
Hi. I'm considering upgrading my old Olympus which uses the Camedia
smart cards and flash path floppy drive adaptor, to a new model which uses the XD media cards. Will these cards still work with the old flashpath adaptor? It's how I've always transferred photos to the computer, and I just find it very convenient, rather than reaching around behind the computer and messing with USB cables. My hunch is 'no', since the photo I've seen of one looks quite a different shape to the old cards. If so, what would be the newest/best Olympus models which still do use the camedia/flashpath format? Thanks J. |

I'd say just get with the 21st century and start using the USB Cable. The
transfer rate is about 10x faster and it is much much easier - no batteries in adapter to worry about, don't have to remove card from camera (hence reducing wear on card) and finally you will have a lot more time to enjoy viewing your photos on your computer. Just as a note, I'm still using the same batteries I got with it nearly 4 years ago. J. |
