scratchable 100TMX?

Hi there!

My BW experience is no more than 30 rolls of various brands and yesterday I
found the first scratch lined form I´ve ever noticed in my negs. The camera
is completely new fm3!

Is 100TMX´s film base softer than others?

My guess it's not the camera.

Did you process it yourself?

If Yes:
Did you squeegee it when you hung it to dry (through your fingers, a tool
made for the purpose, anything)?
If yes, then never squeegee the film when you hang it to dry. Scratches
are bound to happen. After the final wash and wetting agent (Photo-Flo,
etc) just hang it. You can rinse with distilled/deionized water if you
choose, however, not necessary if you have good water and/or you used
distilled/deionized to mix your wetting agent.
If no, then it likely got scratched during handling. Good way to analyze
this is was it the last roll you put through the camera? If it was, then it
could be the camera, but still unlikely. Could have been a grain of dirt in
the felt film lips of the canister (assuming it was 35mm). If it wasn't,
then it's a handling/processing problem.


If no, then it got scratched by the processor.
