Default What photosharing service with active discussion ?

I'm new to photography and have been burning up some photons with the
new digicam. I know there are a bunch of "share your photos' web
sites; is there one in particular that has active chat/commentary
discussions so I can hear from other people about my shots. To the
degree I can, I'll comment on others.

Thanks.

Don't blame me. I voted for Gore.

There are *loads*. I mainly use www.photosnapper.com where you have 2
account options. The free account works well, but the IIRC $25 a year sub
allows you to upload more photos per day and have them at a higher file
size.

www.photosig.com is a good one; you do have to either pay for a
membership ($25/year is not bad at all), or build up points through
active participation (providing *useful* critiques) before you can
upload, but for the most part it's populated by decent people with good
eyes, extremely good signal-to-noise ratio, and lots of cool pictures.

There are loads with commentary features, but there are not loads where
those features are used extensively. I'd say the place to go if you're
particularly interested in discussions is the oldest one:

http://www.photo.net/

(My own "share your photos" site below isn't made for chat/commentary.
It's less for enthusiasts seeking an audience and more for families and
groups seeking a fast, easy, and reasonably private way to share news
and photos among themselves.)
