Default Fuji Finepix S7000 Review - Just Posted

Hi all,

Yes, I know this camera has been out in the market for ages. However, for
those
interested, feel free to have a look here ...

http://www.users.bigpond.net.au/sbry...s/Fuji7000.htm

Feel free to reply to this post if you want to comment on the review. It's
only my third one, and I'm still learning how to write them so that they
make sense. You can see my other reviews, and shareware photo competition
software here..

Regards,
Saul

A good review reflecting all the pros and cons I've experienced with this
camera. I bought it last spring (04) to replace my ageing Sony S-70
(wouldn't buy Sony again - they seem out to rip you off with overpriced
accessories you need to make the camera functional).
One problem not mentioned was that earlier models would run the batteries
down in one day, but Fuji will fix this problem for free.

Stewy,

Thanks for your reply!

I did not know about the battery problem. Did it happen to you?

Out of interest, have you had the focus swith set to MF by mistake and not
realised? I'm just wondering how many people get caught by this. As a friend
pointed out, if the camera doesn't "bebeep", you know you don't have focus
lock. Still, new users may not know that it should beep liek this. I know
that you can turn off the shutter sound and navigation sounds, but I'm not
sure if that also turns off the focus lock beep. I don't have the camera any
more to try it, sadly. Oh well!

Thanks again for your reply,
Saul

Does this problem occur when using a CF card instead of an XD card? When I
use a CF card the power runs right down but not so with an XD.

Yes. It's only with CF cards. It took Fuji just 6 days from me mailing it to
them to getting it back. Batteries now last a week or more. Only problem is
I have 12 Nimh batteries and don't need 4 of them.
