ColorVision Spyder
Any experiences with this device?
Does its software license permit you to calibrate more than one computer with a single Spyder? (I certainly hope so!) |

Found the answer: http://www.colorvision.com/store_lic...e_111703.shtml It's licensed for all the computers at one location, and up to 5 computers portable or elsewhere. |

I reviewed the entry-level ColorPlus version recently:

A mate of mine has one - his only complaint is that it couldn't handle a system with multiple monitors. This is probably a limitation of the OS (WinXP) though - you only get one color profile for all monitors connected to the system - even though they could be significantly different brands/types etc. When asked why he needed *both* monitors calibrated (surely you would do graphic work primarily on just one), he responded that it's just annoying that **** doesn't work how it should, and that the setup looks stupid because even the background on the two different monitors don't match up (one CRT, one LCD) I believe he also muttered a curse that had something to do with a nasty Plague and Microsoft employees. -- Owamanga! |

Yepp - I know about that one. I don't use dual monitors. But if I should, it would be a major pain for me also. Things shall work as they should, and an uncallibrated monitor beside the callibrated should probably disturb my color work. Otherwise - it works just fine. /Roland |

It may be unreasonable to ask a CRT and LCD to match, even with careful color calibration. They have different gamuts. |
