No, a crappy cellphone did not take the image
In article ,
RichA says... I often wondered how many magazine ads for 35mm SLRs in the film days were shot with medium or large format gear. It's actually quite normal. Once one of my images taken with a certain camera was used in an advertising campaign for a different camera. -- Alfred Molon Olympus E-series DSLRs and micro 4/3 forum at http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/MyOlympus/ http://myolympus.org/ photo sharing site |

The use of medium and especially large-format cameras by ad agencies and freelancers working for ad agencies is all but obsolete. -- I agree with almost everything that you have said and almost everything that you will say in your entire life. usenet *at* davidillig dawt cawm |

In a website in which I participate there's a forum where people can buy and sell cameras. A guy posted a photograph of a camera body and several lenses he had for sale. Someone put up a post asking him if he'd taken that photo with the camera he was selling, and which lens he was selling he used. Amazing things can be done with smoke and mirrors. OK - smoke isn't needed. |

How many Hasselblads do you see in commercial or press shoots, either on the street or in studios? Some, maybe, but not many. I see a lot of pros at work in Washington and NY, on the streets and in studios, and I haven't seen a Hasselblad or other medium-format camera for years. Not knocking Hasselblad or any other camera brand or type, or the people who choose to use them, that's not my style. Just saying what I see. And having carried a Hasselblad 500C and a couple of lenses back in the late 70's while doing book and magazine photography, I can understand why. Great if you have an assistant to schlep it around for you. -- I agree with almost everything that you have said and almost everything that you will say in your entire life. usenet *at* davidillig dawt cawm |
