Scanning Old Slides
I'm using a HP photosmart scanner to save some 20 year old slides to disk.
These slides appear to be in perfect condition to the eye and still project a sharp image, but look terrrible after they have been scanned. I've scanned some newer slides and they look good, so I dont think its the scanner. Just the older ones look crappy. The colors appear ruddy and fuzzy. These slides have been stored in plastic sheets with slide sized pockets made by Agfa. Wondering if anyone has any idea how to remedy this problem. My apologies if this is considerd off topic, but I figured there are some slide experts that read this newsgroup. Thanks! |

Scanning Old Slides
If that's a flatbed scanner, then they could be thicker than the other
slides. I've scanned old faded scratched slides on my Nikon 8000 ed and they came out perfectly, as long as they were not Kodachrome. Digital Ice which is the scratch removal software/hardware does not work with Kodachrome. |
