Sony V3 f8 probs

Would someone familiar with this "small aperture" F8 thing explain to this
newbie whether this
is something that can be gotten around in "settings" and if so how is it
done and in what particular outdoor circumstances
in particular is it important to make those changes?

Is it something a hobbyist should regard as critical or is it something that
mainly only advanced users would notice?
