Nikon D70
After all the research I have been doing and searching around for a good
entry level digital SLR I got an unexpected call from my father today telling me he bought me a Nikon D70 with a 15-75mm lens and a form fitting camera case. I was told I can't go wrong with this proven camera....and that it's much better then my previous camera which was a Canon digital rebel. Well, some gig compact flash cards on order already...and I can't wait! |

Since its cross posted 9 out of 10 people would say yes. In my book its another pointless post from another nameless nobody. I hope it made you feel better. -- LOL. |

"Harvey" wrote in message ... Name one way it is better than the Rebel? Ok, since you asked... a 9 frame image buffer versus the 4 frame buffer of the Rebel. Faster write buffer to media than the Rebel. ED 18~70 Nikkor is a better lens than on the Rebel. If the Rebel had an L series lens mounted, but the $100 kit lens isn't that great a lens. Maximum shutter speed 1/8000 sec vs. the 1/4000 sec on the Rebel. Front curtain, Rear curtain sync vs. the first curtain sync on the Rebel. -5 EV to +5 EV in 1/2 or 1/3 EV steps vs the Rebel with only -2 EV to +2 EV in 1/3 EV steps. D70 has 3D Matrix metering, Center weighted, & Spot metering, Rebel nope! D70 Yes, 3 fps, up to 12 JPEG frames, vs. Drebel with Yes, 2.5 fps max 4 images. D70 130,000 pixel LCD display vs. 118,000 pixel LCD. Ooops you only asked "Name one way it is better than the Rebel?" I listed more... |

"Harvey" wrote in message ... Name one way it is better than the Rebel? It works with my collection of lenses. None of my lenses fit on the Rebel for some strange reason. |

Looks like some one else responded to this...certainly a lot more then one
reason why it's better. "Harvey" wrote in message ... wrote in message ... Re-read the original post. I'll quote, maybe you have trouble understanding
the words. "it's much better then my previous camera which was a Canon...." That's past tense and the word previous kind of takes care of it anyway. Do you understand now?
