Raw Files from my Nikon D3 and Photoshop DS2

When I try to open a .NEF files from my new Nikon D3 in Photoshop CS2, I get
the following error:

"Could not complete your request because of a program error."

Can anyone tell me where I can get the proper Raw file converter for
Photoshop CS2 for my new D3?

The Adobe Camera Raw update that supports your camera is v 4.3.1. However,
this update will not work in CS2, so you will need to upgrade to CS3.

As others have mentioned, CS2 cannot be equipped with an Adobe Camera
Raw plug-in to handle the D3 NEF files. The latest ACR plug-in for CS2 is
3.7 and it won't process the D3 raw files.
However, as the others have failed to mention, there is another option.
Ensure your CS2 is equipped with the 3.7 ACR plug-in and it is working
properly (presumably by continuing to convert your current Digital raw
files). Download the Adobe 4.3.1 DNG Converter and it will convert your D3
NEF files to DNG files, which you can open and process with CS2 equipped
with ACR 3.7
Thus, you can continue to use CS2 to process the files from your D3 with
the one added step in your workflow (conversion to DNG). You can even
choose to store your original NEF files within your DNG files for archiving
purposes and remove them in the future, should the need arise.

Thanks. Or I can convert the D3 .NEF images into .TIF using the updated
version of Capture NX that came with my D3. Then I can of course open the
..TIF with PS CS2.

If you want something a little less expensive try PhaseOne Capture1
lite. They should have their D3 version out.

as others have posted, you need the latest version of adobe camera raw
and that will not run in photoshop cs2.

however, i would suggest looking into adobe lightroom. it has the
latest adobe camera raw built in, and it does many of the things people
use photoshop for, such as white balance, exposure adjustment,
sharpening, dust spot correction and cropping. i'm finding that i
rarely use photoshop anymore. there's a free trial too.

It's not going to happen. You need to upgrade to CS3. I'm not sure if you
believe in paying for software? If you don't, there's a gentleman in this
group that will fix you up with a "fixed" copy and a free keygen. Just ask
Bret; he'll tell you what to do.

There are two plug-ins that convert NEF files for Photoshop. One is
supplied with Photoshop. Adobe is no longer updating the raw file
plug-in for CS2. The other is supplied by Nikon and it came with your
camera.
