Would that you had been there to tell the croaking old Senators this, it's
apparent to anyone with a brain but they singled-out Facebook solely because
it was used for political gain and not just money.

what's apparent is that almost all of them had zero idea what they were
even asking nor did they understand the vague and evasive answers
given, therefore they did not followup (not that they had much time to
do so).

EVERYONE on the internet
sells personal data and tracks you, if they say otherwise, they lie.

yep.

why hasn't equifax been forced to testify about their lack of security,
which put just about every american citizen at risk, or that they
profited from it?

B&H ads
followed me around for 2 MONTHS after I inquired on their site about a macro
lens, even after I'd BOUGHT the thing, they still bombarded me.

would you rather see an ad for a macro lens or an ad for tampons?

if you aren't going to block ads, then you might as well see ads for
stuff you might actually buy.

Not me. I have never had a FB subscription, and I didn’t vote for the SOB.
However, there are more than enough of our population willing to be conned by

The true problem with FB is that it's more or less impenetrable with
it's closed groups and such.

It's as closed as next doors front door. You can be invited in if teh
person(s) in that group want you in.

If you know that it exists...

If you don't know a group exists you are hardly likely to want to join
it, maybe you could create one.

Who wants to join a club that accepts
people like you anyways?

Pleanty it seems.

FB ain't a "club" bu some of its groups are.

A group is a group a club is a club if you can't tell the differnce
maybe that is your problem or at least one of them.

Potato, potato, potato!

Except for figuring out what kinda slander you
might be a victim of?

Might be might not be.
Do yuo buy every book on the market just incase someone mentions you in it ?

Someone usually tells me. Like Mom!

She must be quite a reader, there were over 150,000 NEW books published
in the UK alone in 2013.

She's not only an avid reader but a well connected one!

Whatever! FB is that that you Britts got these
days now that you extradited yourselves from you know what... :-ppp
Yeah! You are to be pitied really! :-))

You've taken the wrong meds again this morning haven't you.

All I've got in house is some painkillers that I got on mail order
after that I brooke me arms last summer,

Pain killers I assume you know they are genuine products.

Sure. The online pharmacy that I use is 100% legit!

but they are strictly non
prescript and I quit them half a year ago...

Good idea, I have a friend that takes some really strong stuff for his
back, I'm not sure if it's linked to his strange mental episodes/issues
or not.

Yuo know Jack? I thought that he got the head blown off by his wife,
conveniently called Jackie or something. As said: I don't need them
anymore... :-))

If Zuckerbook goes subscription instead of being ad-driven, it's membership
(like for every entity that has done this) will drop by 95% or more. Watching
the luddite Senators on this has been entertaining.

You should be able to opt out from being tracked on the digital
highways... If I was running for something then I would definitely put
that on the agenda!

I doubt it. Paul and I were discussing a period of time before I knew
you as a stalker. By the time you initially began stalking me, I'd
already long since retired from VX and had stopped posting regularly
to acv for several years.

It's always best to be aware, if possible, of who you are

I take it the response Paul provided isn't what you'd hoped for?

He is an infamous writer of viruses - REAL, *LIVE*, VIRUSES - the
most notable being the IROK virus.

Virus Author.: Raid - [SLAM] June 2000
Virus Name .: IRoK v1.1c [CoreEngine Fix Release]
Virus Target.: EXE and COM infection.
Virus Size...: 7,840 bytes in length.

Yep. You're nearly eighteen years too late with your warning, David.

Details of same he https://www.f-secure.com/v-descs/irok.shtml

Some of which are still incorrect, after all this time.

Yes, I started at Solly's in 1995. Left NAI/Solly/McAfee in 2003.
It was ok - attended a few VB conferences etc. I was an AV engine
programmer (at one stage the only one), so not fighting directly
with you, but just dealing with the effects of your behaviour. I'm
sure you've grown up by now and chanelled your talents into
something more productive. Well, I'd like to think so :-)

Yea, after finishing the last irok variant, I quit the scene. I've
been on the other side, if you will, for the past eighteen years or
so. Wrote an antimalware detection and removal utility that I
supported for three years and went onto work for Malwarebytes for an
additional two years as an expert malware researcher; Researching
Malware samples and writing definitions for the engine to deal with
them.

FB, sold similar personal information to an organization with a
political agenda, as it does to organizations with purely commercial
interests. The political organization, Cambridge Analytica, misused the
information, and lied to FB. FB did not exercise due diligence against
such misuse.
