Default Remove JPG metadata on Windows

Is there a free, easy, tool for stripping all JPG
metadata on Windows, a folder at a time if desired?
I've only found software that costs money merely
to perform that one action.

This is more trouble than I expected.

ExifTool: Command line only

Easy EXIF Delete: Creepy website and no sign
of who wrote it.

Batch Purifier Lite: Requires .Net 4.

This looks like it might be the ticket:

ExifEraser exiferaser.com

Opinions welcome.

ExifTool: Command line only

so what? don't you know how to use a command line tool?

by the way, most of the gui utilities wrap exiftool.

then you didn't look very hard.

there is only one utility worth getting to manipulate exif data and
it's completely free:

Irfanview - http://irfanview.com/

Discussion of stripping exif data; there may be other methods but this
looks really easy:

45 seconds of web search:

4th link (from the top)...

ExifToolGUI for Windows v5.xx

HTH!

Thanks, everyone. Exiftools, even with a GUI,
is overkill, as Exifer also seemed to be. I really,
literally, just want to strip the EXIF data. IrfanView
can do it, but it seems to resave the image, which
I don't want.

I was a bit hesitant about Exiferaser, only because
I don't know anything about the software or the
author. But it seems to be just what I wanted: Drop
a folder on the window and click a button to only get
the EXIF header section removed.

I personally don't have any use for EXIF data. I
generally just don't save it. So I have no use for
anything so involved as Exiftools. But this was actually
for my ladyfriend, who takes trips, returns with
hundreds of photos, then spends weeks editing
them. Often she'll then make books at Shutterfly.
But Shutterfly has changed their site and now has
a very irritating featu The site uses EXIF data
(orientation? thumbnail? I'm not sure) to discern
how the image was taken and then overrides
personal choice, turning the image sideways in
many cases where the image was rotated during
editing! And the site has no option in its tools for
rotating back. So the solution is to gather together
copies of all the images going to Shutterfly and
then batch-strip the EXIF data.

any exif manipulation tool will do more than just delete exif. big deal.

so what.

there you go.

that's incredibly stupid.

it uses the image orientation tag, as do other image editing apps, and
is a very useful feature.

turning the image sideways in

the image orientation tag will be updated if the image was rotated
during editing.

And the site has no option in its tools for
rotating back.

bull****.

no. the solution is use the system the way it was designed rather than
make more work for yourself and cause all sorts of problems for your
poor girlfriend.

Why would Exifer be overkill? It's free and easy to use.

Yes, and exifer does that.
