Default convert a standard camcorder into a "thermal imager"?

I have an old book that claims this can be done on a cheap kids'
camcoder by taking out an internal filter.

If so, can some kind of filter be added to a not-kids-toy camcorder to
do the same, make thermal images visible?

Any way to convert a standard camcorder into a "thermal imager"?

Hello,

as I know, there is no simple solution to make a thermal camcorder
from an "real" camcorder because you need an image chip wich is colded
about -120 °C with some N2 ...
Maybe you mean an IR cam and not a thermal cam...

Greetix.

Stéphane.
