Looking for a replacement for my 4Mp point and shoot. Would like to
meet/exceed as many of the following as possible but don't want to
spend a fortune on the top of the line... nor do I need that...

5mp or better
6x optical zoom or better
2" LCD or better
image stabilization
TTL viewfinder would be nice but not a necessity
Do not need an SLR or changeable lenses - My needs aren't nearly that
elaborate nor are my skills.

My girlfriend has a Kodak DX6490 which has most of what I want but not
all..... would prefer a german lens but that's not a necessity
either....

Thanks in advance...

BTW, my current point and shoot is a Sony DSC-S40 which takes
wonderful pictures....

Panasonic Lumix FZ30.

You might look into the Kodak P850. Seems to have most of your
requirements, and IS to boot.

Okay, thought I might add a price range. The Lumix FZ30 and Kodak P850
look to be marvelous cameras... but a bit more than I can afford at
the moment. I'd like to stay under $300 US if at all possible. With
that in mind I have found a few choices that look like they might fit
the bill.... and yes, still looking for recommendations and any
feedback on the ones I am going to list...

Minolta FZ5
Minolta FZ6
Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ5
Fuji S5200

Thanks.

Not bad, either.

Thanks.
