They could have made the same claim of the Kodak X-15 and cheap instamatics
back in the 1970's, but it would have been a mistake to devote 40% of space
to it then as well.


phone cameras are used orders of magnitude more than other cameras,
which are now a little more than a round-off error, if that much.

that was not the case with instamatics.

There is a reason magazines like Road and Track
concentrate on high-dollar specialist vehicles because enthusiasts want them
to.


they also write about 'boring' cars, not that magazines matter anymore.

Unless Dpreview wants to be the Consumer Reports of cameras. Maybe they do?


nobody wants to stoop that low.

Not only that but there are more new devopments and cameras in phone
cameras than in the rest of the market.
