Sometimes stupid loses

Or someone wrote: I have mixed feelings on this one. I haven't ridden for a few years, but I did at one time. My son still rides, but not frequently anymore. Both son and I own Moto Guzzis, but mine is a vintage 1972 Ambassador that's now in parts and pieces. His is a California Jackal. The first bike I owned, back in 1952 was an Ambassador. It was a 150 cc two stroke. I remember the engine would crud up over time, and I would remove it from the bike and clean it out with steel wool in my mom's kitchen sink, then lube it with vasaline and stick it back in the bike, where it would start easily for another month or so before it would start to crud up anain. I normally lubed it by adding one cup of oil to every gallon of gasoline. It was a great bike. When it got too hard to start (before I cleaned it) I would remove the spark plug and add a teaspoonful of model airplane fuel, put the plug back in and it would start with one kick...:^) |
