Default LENSE-CAP/DOOR POWER PROBLEM OLYMPUS D-320L

I've got an old Olympus D-320L with lots of extra Smart Media which I want
to give to my 8 year old. To turn the camera on, you slide over the
lense-cap/door. Recently it started giving me problems with the door cause
it turns on intermittently, or when I tap it. Probably a solder connection.
Anyone have any insight on taking the lense-cap/door off and fixing this
manually? I know there's a ball bearing there... Thanks
