Default Canon Powershot G2 with remote capture, exposure time settings possible?

Hallo!

Is it possible to change the exposure time with the remote capture software?
I want to make a lot of pictures whole the night of the stars in the sky.
So i need a longer exposure time (about 1 Sec).
Maybe there exists another software to do so?

Thanks,
Markus
