Mike I'm not a big GM fan when it comes to their idea of cool...but that Camaro looks very very mean. I guess all of these guys are going back to 1969 to try to recapture what they were doing right. First the Mustang is a ringer for the '69-70 (my personal favorite year for the 'Stang was '70) then the '71 Challenger (combining a little bit of the '70 'Cuda) and, finally the '69 Camaro. That year had the little fake vents in front of the rear wheels, just like the current show car. Thank God AMC didn't survive, think about a revival of the Javelin...or the Gremlin or Pacer... Don't get me wrong, I like the cars, they all reflect the years that I, personally, liked best, but, sheesh, lets get something new, and just as passionate, can't we? Of course, it says something about the styling that it holds up so well, 35 years later. But, then, the Ford GT, 42 years after it was first seen, looks better than most of the mid engined super cars on the road, today. -- Skip Middleton http://www.shadowcatcherimagery.com |
