This picture is from my 5th roll of my Pentax 67II camera. I bought
it 3 months ago and I'm now hooked on medium format. My favorite film
for 6x7 is Velvia 50 and 100. There's nothing like looking at a 6x7
chrome with an 8x loupe. 35mm feels like a point and shoot now (even
though it's not).

I blew this picture up to 20x24 from the The Slideprinter
(www.slideprinter.com) and they did a great job. I had them drum scan
and print it to 20x24. The enlargement is grainless. What is your
opinion of the picture below?

I used a Pentax 6x7 for a number of years from the mid 80s to the early
90s. Had a nice system built up. I didn't like it in the studio or
for weddings, but it was a great location camera. Used it for families
on location, portraits in the park, and it was a great pictorial
camera.

That's a beautiful photo. This was on Velvia? Did you do any digital
dodging or burning, or any color correction for the light sources?

Hi George,

Its a very nice photo, however I find the pier lights at the bottom a bit
strong and distracting and that there is too much black sky at the top. So I
suggest printing the buildings/bridge as an panoramic image instead.

Only other thing missing, which is out of your control, is that I would
liked to have seen an aircraft warning light on top of the central building
or a pole in lights as in the other 2 prominent ones either side. Mind you
does this bring in the role of artistic licence and photoshop?

I have the 6x7 and have to start using it regularly with the 90mm, but will
be using Tmax100 as I want to start processing at home again.

By the way what lens were you using, 55/45mm?

Cheers,
Stephen

Thanks. There's no dodging or burning, nor color correction. What
you see is a 40 second exposure at f/16 using Velvia 100F film. I
used the Pentax 55-100 lens.

Nice, but I think it needs to be rotated about a degree or so clockwise. The
buildings seem to tilt just a bit.

Nice shot, though. Great color!
