Forget the digiscoping
This will do a more flexible job than any spotting scope. Mostly because
you can use it in prime focus (just the internal front elements acting as the imaging components) mode or with a eyepiece for a longer effective f.l. P.S. There isn't one SCRAP of crappy plastic on that thing, it is all machined aluminum. http://www.williamoptics.com/wo_shop...p?products_id= 433 |

At least it's white. The primary function of the scope is for viewing which is done with a diagonal. Right angle tube with a mirror and an eyepiece. To attach a camera you need a couple other things, but it isn't costly, about $60.00. |

They don't perform as well (if we are talking about image qualilty) until you get into the multi-thousand dollar range of the fast camera optics. |

A 2-element telescope lens cannot outperform a multielement camera lens. Telescopes are all about aperture per dollar than image quality. |

A 2-element telescope lens cannot outperform a multielement camera lens. Well, actually it can. All those elements in camera lenses allow for zooming and for focusing. Telescopes are all about aperture per dollar than image quality. Um, no. Image quality is paramount. That's why telescope optics are routinely measured to 1/4 wave of light. -- Ray Fischer |
