Can the warranty be transferred from one owner to another? I looked at

Another ripoff from a big corporation. Typical also of laptops and computers in general. What difference could it possibly make to the function of a camera whether it's owned by one person or another? The warranty should be good for one year from purchase date regardles of who owns the machine.
