Problem downloading web photos.

When I download images from the web, some of them are just
in the JPG icon format, that is there is no picture but just
that icon.

The file seems to have content because it indicates, say,
250kb in size.

how can I get the image to display and store?


Please help.

Sometimes the site attempts to protect the photo by showing an image
over a background. "Right-click/Save image" saves the image... but the
image you save that way is mostly transparent, the real image was the
background.

An evolved navigator such as Firefox can show you all the media in the
page, background or not, in the page information dialog, with "save"
buttons. Recent versions may even have a "save background image" item in
the menu if you right-click over such protected images.
