S2 spec becoming clearer - includes some lenses with leaf shutters

I shoot with a full-frame DSLR, cost me about $2,000. The Leica's sensor is (30x45 / 24x36), about 1.6 times larger. I would therefore expect the Leica's price to be maybe $3,200. For $30,000 I would expect a sensor 15 times larger than my camera's. Why in this case do you expect a linear relationship, whereas it's usually the case when approaching technological limits that quite severely diminishing returns operate? -- Chris Malcolm |

Not to mention it's from Leica. It's quite clear that their business model does not involve selling to people who complain about pricing. On the other hand, it also doesn't involve outsourcing production to mars.... -Miles -- Rational, adj. Devoid of all delusions save those of observation, experience and reflection. |
