Default D800 resolution

I realize this is a complex issue
(http://luminous-landscape.com/tutori...solution.shtml) but it would seem
that the sensor of the D800, particularly the E variant, so exceeds the
resolution of even high quality lenses (and Nikon makes less of these than
their prices would indicate) as to make it impossible to accurately evaluate
with current test apparatus.

Nope.

Resolution of the "cheap'n'cheerful 50mm f1.8g (or even the "D") is so
close to theoretical maximum resolution on the D3x, that it's
inconceivable that there won't be a *significant* gain when tested on
the D800 - "E" of plain vanilla version with AA filter.
Look at the 85mm "G" lenses MTF on D3x, and it's the same story.
Luminous Landscape get very "precious" about the advantages of
unaffordable (for most of us) equipment.

Yet more nonsense from Ludicrous Landscape. ;-)

This is getting really interesting! Collect all the opinions formed
before the release, then go back and see how accurate they were.
