Default Wanted: Rotating LCD, plus Stabilization

My Canon S1 IS is nearly perfect for tabletop and macro photography
with its image stabilization and rotating LCD. But would like more
than the available 3.1mp. Unfortunately, the new S5 IS does not have a
rotating screen (though there's one on the older S3 IS). Are there any
other brands that offer this combination of rotating LCD and image
stabilization.

That must be news to Canon.

You are correct. Getting my Canons mixed up. Currently using a G5
an S1 IS and an A70. It's the new G7 that has the bigger, but fixed,
screen. Don't need the big zoom or IS for my purposes.

It's the G9 that is the current model. No rotating LCD and poorer lens
than on the old G6 (the pinnacle of the G series). What would be great
is a G6 with IS added--no other changes. The 7.1 MP resolution is find
for such a small sensor.

There is the A650 IS which has the rotating screen and is about the size
of a G series. No RAW, but probably someone will port CHKDK to it. I
think the noise will be quite high with a 12 megapixel sensor.

I suggest you visit http://tinyurl.com/p2hht and check out a few specs.
For your S1 IS you will have to look thru' the archives. There again,
since you claim to already have the S1 Is, perhaps you also have the
manual, something you might want to read before you post.

Have they stopped making a rotating screen? I was all cranked up to buy a
new Canon when I found out they did not have this feature. I take photos at
Conventions and need this feature to sometimes get over whatever is in front
of me.

On the Gx series, yes. Reportedly, the LCD on the G7/G9 is much easier to
see at an angle. It's also larger than the flip/twist LCDs Canon is using,
so that's probably why it is fixed. The A6xx series still has the
flip/twist LCD, as does the S5IS. The new SX100 also has it.
