Default waterfowl locations?

Hi,

Does anyone know of any great spots in the mid Atlantic region to
photograph waterfowl?

I got some good waterfowl shots in West Coast National Park on the
mid-Atlantic coast of South Africa. I also got some nice puffins near Cape
Bonavista on the mid-Atlantic coast of Newfoundland.

Chincoteague Refuge and the adjoining Assateague Island National Park,
both located on the East Shore of Virginia. Definitely qualifies as
great place to photograph waterfowl. You even get some wild ponies
thrown in for free. Best time of day for the birds is, of course, just
after daybreak.

You might look into the Delmarva Peninsula and along the Virginia
coast to just north of Norfork.

Bill G:
Don't know where you are starting from and/or how far you wish to travel.
Try the Virginia Eastern Shore.
This is located at the mouth of the Chesapeake Bay, across the Bay Bridge
Tunnel from the City of Virginia
Beach so you will have a major metro area to return to in the evening within
short drives.
Another good area is the Outer Banks of North Carolina, although now is not
necessarily the time to go with
all the folks playing tourist due to the 100th anniversary of flight
celebration at the Wright Bros. shop at Kitty
Hawk. But then again there are some good photo ops there too...
