tales of new equipment

Hello all,
I've recently aquired some new equipment, though most isn't 35mm related.
For one, I've purchased a Mamiya 6 with 75 and 50mm lenses. This is an
amazing camera, very robust, not too big (about the size of an F100 with
motor drive). It's very easy to use, but the meter is easily fooled. The
lenses are awesome.

I've also put together a large format kit, including a Shen-Hao 4x5 view
camera, a 210mm Rodenstock Sironar-N, and a 90mm 6.8 Rodenstock Grandagon.
I even bought an old 6x9 roll film back for it. As I've yet to receive the
camera, I can't say too much about it. I hope I like large format!

Finally, I recently took possession of an old Nikkormat with 55mm
Micro-Auto-P lens. I've yet to use the camera, and probably won't, but I
had the lens converted by John White of Ann Arbor, and I've been using it on
my F100 and D70. Works a treat. Oh yeah, the Nikon camera and lens were
simply given to me!

Now I've gotta get back down to it, and get out and take some photos!

That really sounds like fun, and I think you'll find the 6x9 back far
more economical and convenient than sheet film. It's a real good
alternative to small format quickness.

Aw Matt, ya big silly. You got to get back into the old Nikon stuff. I've
dumped four 'F's, three motor drives, half a dozen lenses and now I'm down
to offing the small stuff.... or stick to REAL cameras - LF, MF.

Congrats Matt. I've looked at a used 645 Pro, but the lenses were not leaf
(rather only 1 of the 3 was leaf, others depended on the camera's FP shutter and
abysmal sync speed). I'm more and more convinced that a 500CM is the beast for me.
