True - plastic left in the sun does tend to turn yellow.

OTOH I keep my lenses in black bag and usually have a UV or skylight
filter
on them.


Make sure you store them with the lens caps off so that the stored
light can escape. Otherwise, the light will carry on bouncing around
in there, making the plastic elements go yellow.
