I get something similar with my setup too. Here is an example of what the best amateur astrophophotographers are producing using webcams and lucky imaging (shift and add software). He does quite a bit of imaging for Patrick Moore's Sky at Night programme. ---begin quote--- Hi all, not posted on usenet for a long time! Here's a shot of Jupiter I took with my C-14 on the night of September 3/4 2010. This particular shot was taken just as the planet's giant moon Ganymede was exiting from Jupiter's disk. http://www.digitalsky.org.uk/jupiter...9-45_RGB15.jpg -- Best regards, Pete Lawrence http://www.digitalsky.org.uk ---end quote--- That image is better than professional ground based images from a decade ago. One side effect of so many people video imaging Jupiter at high resolution these days is that many more things hitting into Jupiter with a flash and a bang are being seen. And most times there are at least two independent records providing confirmation of a strike! Regards, Martin Brown |
