Minolta warranty - $20.00 charge to fixed their defective product?
I purchased a Minolta S414 December 2003, and the product failed to
operate July 2004. I returned the camera to the place of purchase (camera store), and after about 5 weeks the store called to say the camera was repaired under warranty, but there was a $20 shipping and handling charge. I find this hard to believe that a Company can charge money to fix their defective product. Has anyone else run into this? Is this just a Minolta policy? |

I will NEVER buy anything from Minolta. What happens to you happened to me

I think it may be a camera store policy because they want to stay in business. If you shipped the unit directly to Minolta you would have had to pay for shipping/insurance anyway which at current rates would be $10-$12. How do you think the camera got to Minolta from the camera store? |

I recently returned a Minolta A2 directly to Minolta, and they repaired it with no charge. I paid shipping to them, and they paid shipping to me. I shipped UPS ground, I think it ran me $8.00. I wonder if this is a store charge, and not a Minolta charge. I suggest you protest this charge with the store. You probably paid more for your camera than I did purchasing over the internet, and part of what you are paying for is customer service. Terry |
