Here's my comment: "Where's my pic?" I sent it in on Feb. 25 and
again last night.

I submitted two pictures and neither of them went up, not sure if
that's ok as this was my first time submitting.

I have a question though: Does every pic that is submitted get posted
or does someone choose the "best" ones? Also I'm not sure of the
correct email address to send to.. I sent it to the one in the rulz
section.

Try sending again - appears to have been a mail problem. I
reconfigured something, so we'll see if that fixes it.

Either address you can find associated with the SI works fine - or
at least, is intended to. But the primary one is si[at]wading[dash]in
[dot]net

Alas, only one, and if I receive two, I'm gonna make you pick which
one before I put anything up ;-). Otherwise, provided you don't have
something highly inappropriate, it goes up in the gallery.

You'll want to send from a proper ISP e-mail address, though -
hotmail, gmail, yahoo, and all other free ilk will probably get tossed
automatically by the filters.

Thanks, uh, whoever you are...

- Al.

Ok, I'll try sending to that address.

Gotcha, only one.

Hmm.. I only have hotmail and google accounts.. not sure what you want
me to do about that.

Thanks, uh, whoever you are...

Haha.. my name actually IS Shane. Do people on here prefer the use of
full names or is a "handle" acceptable?

Send it to me. Remove Freelunch, I'll route it to Al. Include all data
that's useful.

Must be a conspiracy, because I sent one in last night as well, and
it's not showing up either.

Ahhhh, it's the new procedures for Round Five - iffen I don't
like the pics, I ain't agonna put 'em up ;-)

[There, that oughta get the self-righteous nitwits jumping
around a bit ;-) ]

I apologize, but never saw any sign of them. I made a small
change to the spam filter, which meant that if they got
classified as spam I might never have seen them. However, most
everyone who's submitted for the SI has been whitelisted, so
regardless, they should have come through the filter.

Try once more, if you would, and failing that, I can arrange for
another address to submit to. If I get it, you'll receive a
personal reply sometime after the auto-response.

Thanks!

- Al.

Just tried again. Let me know if it doesn't come through.

I had been trying the aliasimages.com address. I had the wading
address, but ti had been awhile since I submitted so I checked the
website to see if maybe it had changed.

Anyway, I just sent it to the wading address and got the auto-response
immediately.

As usual, that crap didn't happen under the previous administration.

Yeah... Where's mine too?
I took it tomorrow and it hasn't shown up either.
You can't trust these people. Bret never stuffed up the thing did he?
Well not often, anyway.
OK so he got it wrong more often than not but this is no reason to expect Al
will be any different... Is it?

Wonderful lighting, another with interesting backlit hair. The glow is
beautiful, homemade soft filter, how did you make it?

The soft focus filter was a typical Bay 3 skylight filter that I modified
using a ceramic drill bit. I simply made lots of small divots, as smoothly
as possible in the surface of the filter (on the inside, so the "dirty" side
would be easier to clean). After that I polished the divots as much as
possible using some very fine cloths. When used properly, the results were
pretty nice. I usually tried to avoid small apertures, since that tends to
diminish the soft focus effect. It only fits the Yashica, so it doesnt' see
a lot of use.

I just checked the rulz site and it sends submissions to si@alias, which
was set to re-route to me ( ...@video...)

I've reset it to re-route to si@wading ...

Not sure why that was screwed up. OTOH, I didn't get your submission
either...

Cheers,
Alan.

There is some sort of stuff up here.
I was only half joking when I posted my earlier comment about my missing
submission. I used the link on Alan Browne's site to make the submission.
Maybe I'm actually on the spam filter list? Anyway... 2 attempts and it all
over red rover as far as I'm concerned. Other people have spam filters and
don't lose stuff.

It's not a spam issue. Send the photo to me (remove the Freelunch),
I'll relay it.

Cheers,
Alan
