Default Loose Nikkormat Back Release

I don't know specifically about the FT2, but in general the
textured covering is there to hide the screw heads.

Peal the covering off gently, a dull butter knife makes a good tool
for this. Sometimes a bit of heat from a hairdryer helps.

To glue it back on, first remove as much of the old glue as
possible, coat both sides with rubber cement, let dry till
tacky and then press together. Rubber cement has the advantage
that you can always get the covering off again later if you
need to.
