FA: 6X9 Century Graphic -- a Medium/ Large Format Hybrid Camera!
This is a Century Crown Graphic camera that shoots in the 6 X 9
format. You can shoot either sheet film or 120 film in in a roll film holder. (This auction is for the camera only.) I use it as a small view camera, focusing on the ground glass, and exposing with the lens' shutter. It can also be hand-held, and has a working range-finder. It does not have a strap, but one could easily be added -- brackets are present. I call this a "hybrid" camera because, while 6 X 9 is generally considered largest-size medium format, you are not locked into 120-size roll film, as with other MF cameras. You can also shoot SHEET FILM as with a large format camera, and process films individually, in trays or tanks. What's so hot about that? You can use the Zone System if you like. You can edit your shots, keeping the ones you like and tossing out the failures. (Roll film is too flimsy to cut into individual shots.) This camera is especially great for travelling. When folded up, it is only 6 inches tall, 6 inches wide and 3 inches thick. You can pack your entire photography kit except tripod -- camera, lenses, a dozen film holders, a roll-film back, filters, etc. in one easily-carried case so you don't look like a pack-mule. This camera is in excellent condition. It has the desirable Graphlok back and spring-loaded viewing hood. Bellows are light-tight. The lens is a 103mm Graflex Trioptar mounted on a spiffy, black lensboard. Speeds are from 1/10 to 1/200 with B and T, and sound right on. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...e=STRK:MESE:IT |

There is no such thing as a "Century Crown Graphic" camera.

6X9 Century Graphic -- a Medium/ Large Format Hybrid Camera!
Alec, old curmudgeon, you don't expect truth in eBay listings, do you?
You're right, its desireable but I'm not sure it pays. Hype's the word, alas. With regret, Dan |

Just trying to keep it from going too far afield. My favorite is
