Panasonic FZ8 Reviews
Most of the reviews of the FZ8 say:
1. The camera itself is very good. But 2. The images it produces are noisy and only so so. If that is the case then what camera of this type would produce much better images that can enlarge at least to 8.5x11 and possibly to 11x14? |

Measekite, I suspect that, providing you keep the ISO down to 100 or below, any of the recent Panasonic or Canon cameras would satisfy your need, certainly for 8.5 x 11 inches. Panasonic FZ5, FZ7, FZ8, Canon S3 IS. The Panasonics probably have the edge in leans quality. The higher resolution sensor in the newer cameras would produce slightly crisper, but slightly noisier results, and the Canon possibly has the more aggressive in-camera noise reduction. Which image you like best is probably personal preference. The small-sensor camera has its limitations in image quality compared to a DSLR, but it's much easier to carry around and costs less. If you are going to examine your 8.5 x 11 inch prints very close up, then probably no small-sensor camera will satisfy you. Cheers, David |
